Summer

Hello again!

I'll be honest, I'm not really much of a Summer person. I adore Spring, and early Summer is nice, but by the time mid-July sets in, I am done. Needless to say, I'm pretty thrilled that today is the first day of September!

But, I wanted to share (or document, since no one is likely reading this blog), some of our late Spring and Summer adventures.

In May, I attended Nashville Boogie with Sophie, Aron, and Amber. Nashville Boogie is a rad annual rockabilly weekender. I attended briefly last year and had a blast!
First day, I wore my Voodoo Vixen dress and attempted my first wet set.
Winkles was into the crinoline.
I met the lovely and sweet Sabina Kelly.
Saw some sweet rides.
Aron, Sophie, Amber and I headed for for day 2 on Saturday.
Sophie boogying.
Me and the lovely Taylor Nicole.
Me and Daisy Delane's sweet Edsel.
Trying to get a family pic LOL.

Boogie was a rad time! I bought too much stuff, saw the pinup contest, and heard some great music!

We made a trip to FL around the 4th of July. You can cut the humid Florida air like butter, but it is worth it to see everyone. And I love the ocean.

We visited Shawna, Misti, and Chris and I showed them the joys of Snapchat.
Little Baby Angels.
Beach time.
Grandma time
Oh yes, Sophie also started dance class! My tiny dance just loves it.
And...I'm officially obsessed with Twin Peals the Return.
Happy Almost Fall!

Cheekwood In Bloom

Hello Again!

Yes, I'm back with another post! I'm surprising myself this week.

Two weekends ago, Aron, Sophie, and I checked out Cheekwood In Bloom. This was our first time visiting Cheekwood, a beautiful botanical garden and art museum located in Nashville.  Cheekwood In Bloom is a Springtime event showcasing the beautiful blooming flowers and trees, along with activities such as outdoor yoga, activities for little ones, and yes, a beer garden. Ahhhhh, the beer garden...

It is no secret that spring is my favorite season, especially here in Tennessee. The dogwood and cherry blossom trees, the tulips, the daffodils all take my breath away. It is a magical time for me.

Attempting to take a scenic photo with a toddler is always good for a laugh.
Cheekwood in bloom is filled with blooming tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and much more.

Daffodils and ducks.
The views are stunning.
Family time

As most parent's can attest, "adventures" with toddlers don't always go as planned. Sophie is generally an extroverted child, but is slow to warm up. She spent much of the visit a bit overwhelmed by the "newness" of the place, and the hoards of strangers.

But, by the time we made it to the beer garden, with it's food trucks and jazz music, she was fine. The girl appreciates jazz, I guess.
I managed to take a proper Mommy and Me outfit pose before our adventure:
Me: Dress, cami, leggings: Forever 21 Plus
Shoes: DSW
Sophie: All Target

Until next time!
xoxo, Adrienne

Life Nuggets

Hi Y'all!

I hope you all had a great Fourth of July! We did, and I'll share more on that later.

I've been such a lazy blogger this Summer. We've been busy organizing our stock and getting prepped for Dragon*Con. But, we've managed to sneak in some good times as well. Here are a few life nuggets from this Summer.
I bought this card for Aron's birthday. It made us both very happy!
We met up with The Ellers and Macseks for Aron's birthday dinner at La Tavola.
Ben and Tracy introduced us to La Tavola this Summer, and we are eternally grateful. We decided to have Aron's birthday dinner there. Everyone agreed that my seafood risotto was the best dish at the table. If you are in the area, give La Tavola a try! You won't regret it.
The Macseks and us went in on a co-op with a farmer so that we can get fresh veggies every week. This heirloom cucumber makes me giggle.
Becca and I had an awesome, mid-week pool day.
We met up with Ben and Tracy headed over to Dave and Busters at Opry Mills. That afternoon, I felt like a kid again.

Well, I better get my day started. Tonight is girls night with Steph and Tracy, woo hoo!

Lips and Keys

Hello Again!

Last week, I took a brief blog break last to fully enjoy our mini Florida vacation! I had a wonderful time, and will be sharing our beach adventures next week.

Earlier this month, we attended the Black Keys/Flaming Lips concert with Ben and his friend Jay. The concert was a surprise birthday present to Ben from his wife Tracy :)

The show was held at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. Both bands rocked the house, hard.
A beer or two before heading over to the arena

Aron and I saw the Flaming Lips back in 2011 at The Ryman. It was a life changing show, full of love and hope, confetti and bear costumes. This time around The Lips played some  new tracks from The Terror, which honestly, is a very depressing album. While they were amazing as always, both Ben and I wished we had heard a few more tunes from Yoshimi and The Soft Bulletin.
This was my first time seeing The Black Keys live. I was quite impressed, their set was very tight and full of soul.
One of the many things I love about Nashville is the music scene, and all of the rad artists the city attracts. We have seen several fab shows since we moved here in 2010!

Random, goofy pic of us before we left for the concert.
Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely

Hello Again,

I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday! I wanted to share some photos I snapped of these lovely trees. Are these cherry blossoms or crabapple trees? I should know this.

These were taken outside my doctor's office! Beauty can grow in the strangest places....
Have a lovely day,
Adrienne

Porter Flea

Hello Again!

Last weekend, Aron and I headed over to Nashville to check out Porter Flea, a local craft and food spectacular.

The weather was warm, so I was able to get away with a light top, dress, and leggings.

Porter Flea was packed! There was a line around the block to get into the event. I stopped by and met Kaelah of Little Chief Honeybee! She was such a sweetheart, and her Honeybean mobile boutique setup was gorgeous.

Next to Honeybean was Jeni's ice cream. We tried the goat cheese/Courvoisier & the Chocolate/Peppermint flavors. Hands down, it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had!

Porter Flea had over 60 amazing handmade vendors. We picked up a few unique Christmas presents for friends and family.

After shopping, we stopped at one of the food trucks. We chose the pizza, and it was not great. The crust was hard as a rock! I guess we should have braved the trucks with the longer lines.

We stopped by Antique Archeology (the 2nd store of the American Pickers dudes), and weren't super impressed. It mainly consisted of high price auto antiques, and cheesy American Pickers tshirts and merchandise. Oh wells.

We went up to Franklin to The Factory for a bit more Christmas shopping. We had planned on getting a bite of dinner in Nashville, but we were so tired after our adventures that we ended up heading home and ordering Pei Wei. Ahhh, the joys of getting old :)

Have a good one!
