Gingerbread House Day

We attended Gingerbread House Day last weekend in Nashville and had a blast. What is Gingerbread House Day you might ask? It is a holiday event hosted by local friends....and yes, the sport of gingerbread house making is featured. Everyone brings a dish of yum noms, and some candy and graham crackers for construction. Much fun is had by all :)
Here is what I chose to wear to the event.

Sweater: Forever 21 Plus
Jeggings: Old Navy Plus
Shoes: Me Too
Glasses: Bealls Outlet in Florida

I wanted to be comfy, yet festive in my attire. I am pretty sure I achieved that, at least the comfy part, I am obsessed with these Me Too shoes. They are so comfortable (they even have padded insoles!), and I love the jeweled embellishment on the toe.

I made stuffing with chicken sausage for my dish, and it was rad as hell. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

My house construction always starts on the right foot. A little wonky maybe, but nothing tragic.

But it ends up like this. Did I mention my roof caved in and I had to make a flat roof, with a toaster like slot in the center?

To quote the dad from A Christmas Story- "It's a pink nightmare!" Well, it is kind of cute. Especially with the baby on the roof. That was my husband's idea.

Doesn't Aron look sweet with his little gingerbread house? Ummm yeaaaa

Well, this is what the inside of his deranged mind..errrrr...gingerbread house looks like. It is a baby gym. With speared gummy bears. Moving on....

Here is me and Tracy getting goofy from all the sugar fumes.

This is Tracy's house. Didn't it turn out beautifully?!

Here is Steph and her fabulous house. I nominate this photo for Cutest Picture of the Year.

Ben didn't feel like partaking in house construction, but decorated the back of Aron's baby gym.

As you can see, much fun was had by all. So what fun holiday events do y'all have planned?

  1. aww I miss making gingerbread houses. We did that in Girl Scouts and collocated our empty milk cartons to use as a base.

  4. Adrienne, I have NEVER made a gingerbread house before, EVER. I have a feeling mine would look even messier and more hilarious than Aron's baby gym. I think I giggled for more than 5 minutes after seeing that. And that hanging baby is just ridiculous! hahahaha.

I love that bow top you wore! I remember seeing it on a wishlist you had a few posts back and I like it on you a lot!!!
