ASOS Curve Review: My First ASOS Order

Hello Peeps,

First, I'd like to say hello and thank you to all of my new followers! I love reading your comments :) We need just 4 more followers, and I can host the first Lola-Rocks giveaway!

What attracted me to ASOS was the fact that they do not discriminate-they have "straight" sizes and plus sizes, with many of the same items in both size ranges. I placed my first ASOS Curve order a week or two ago, and my package arrived today! Let me say that I love everything that I ordered. I wear a US 20, and I ordered a UK 22 (which is supposed to be a US 18,but I went by the measurements). Most everything fit fine with plenty of room. Check out my picks below
:

I fell in love with this zipper top the moment I laid eyes on it! It is sheer, slouchy, and fabulous. I think this will look great with leggings and skinnys for the Fall, and my cropped leggings and distressed denim skirt for Summer. *Note-This top is completely sheer, so you will need a cami underneath.

I also purchased this legging with attached mini skirt. It is beautifully made, but a bit big and long in the legs for me. But then again, I have the shortest duck legs imaginable, so that is most likely the issue. This look is surprisingly flattering, so don't be afraid to try it! Just go one or two sizes down :)

I ordered this sweater in both the oatmeal and in black. It is FABULOUS! It runs true to size, is beautifully made, and will be great for the Nashville Fall and Winter. I can't wait to wear this with a long, thin layering top, skinnys, and my boots. AWESOME!

Most of these looks are too hot for 100 degree weather, so you won't see too many ASOS Fashion Nuggets until Fall. I am going to try and rock the zipper top and see how it goes, hopefully sometime this week. I did place another ASOS order with some more lightweight items, and I can't wait to see how those work!

Be sure to check our ASOS: http://www.asos.com/

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Fashion Nugget of the Day...Mixing it Up

Hello Peeps,

It has been a busy day here in Lola Land, but I wanted to share with you my Fashion Nugget of the Day. Well, actually yesterday. I have wanted to try pairing a graphic tee with my fave skirt of the summer for a while now. I finally tried it yesterday, and it seemed to work out OK.

Top: Walmart. Yes I said it, Walmart. I lurrvvee the Beatles.

Skirt: Pure Energy, Target clearance rack

Shoes: Ross (I wear these about 5 days a week, in case you haven't noticed.

Sunglasses: Calvin Klein, from Marshall's clearance

The sunglasses I'm wearing here have been my go-tos for the past year. I have been searching for modified cat's eye look, but never quite find the right ones. I have a difficult time finding glasses to fit my big head. Seriously, it is an issue!

I did see these on eBay. Even used, they go for around $50-$60. They are Ray-Ban, and they are classic, but it's really not in the budget at this time.

Well guys, I have to go cook dinner, wash clothing, all that glamorous stuff. Some friends are coming over tomorrow to have a True Blood Season One viewing, so that should be good times. I making vampire cupcakes, heee heee. Have a good weekend everyone!

Oh Santino, how I've missed you!

Before you read today's post, let me assure you I have fixed the dang Blogger settings for comments! Now anyone who is follwing can leave a comment, not quite sure how I screwed that up, but I apoloigize. Thanks Cristal for letting me know :)

For those that know me, it's no secret that I luurrvveed Santino Rice from Project Runway Season 2. He was hilarious, obnoxious, and horribly talented. I wanted to have his Santino babies...shhhhhg don't tell Aron. Yes, I know Santino is not interested in women, just let me dream OK!!

I was super excited to see that he has a new show on Lifetime that airs after Project Runway (which I stopped watching once it moved to Lifetme, I'm not sure why). The show is called On the Road With Austin and Santino. I watched the first episode last night On Demand, and it was great! The premise is, Austin and Santino drive around to towns in middle America and make women's fashion dreams come true. I love how, so far, the designers are very respectful and kind to the ladies. No bitchy shit going on here at all. All I could find was a preview, but here it is:

Here are a few of my fave Santino moments. I almost peed my pants watching these again. He just rules. This on is the best one, Santino as Tim Gunn singing NIN Closer. HAAAAAAAAAAAA!

OK, this might be even funnier, HAAAAAAAAA! Tim Gunn and Andrae go to Red Lobster. Seriously. Classic.

OK, this is the only clip I could find of his runway show at fashion week. You might want to turn the sound down....I'm just saying. He didn't win PR, basically becuase he was sooo out there in his designs for the entire season, and his show at fashion week was beautiful and toned down. Hey, he was just listening to the judges!

Hope you all have a great Thursday!

HK Magic Eight Ball & Lola-Rocks Goodies

Hello Peeps,

I am working my tushie off today listing comics for my husbands store, Twisted Heroes. www.twistedheroes.com. Though I am busy, I had to share the Hello Kitty Magic 8 ball Aron ordered for me from Diamond (his comic distributor). It is so frickin' cute!

My only disappointment is that the "answer cube" is not floating in liquid. Instead you push HK's bow and out pops the answer. It's pretty fabulous though, I must admit. I need to do a post on my HK collection, it is a bit insane :)

I finally made time to post the new items on http://www.lolarocksclothing.com/. These are a few of my favorite new items:

Raven Zipper Dress, sizes Small-Large, $15.99

This is the dress that my wholesaler mixed up last week. Well, they were awesome enough to send the correct dresses to me before they received my return items! I think that was very sweet of them :)

I love this hot little number! Cassie Cold Shoulder Dress, Sizes 1X-3X, $17.99

Mad Men Dress, Sizes Small-Large, $17.99

Chic Tunic Top, Sizes 1X-3X, $14.99

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I think I will blog about the new show On The Road with Austin and Santino! We are watching the first episode on demand right now. I love Santino Rice, cracked me up hardcore on Project Runway Season 2.

Night Night!

Fashion Nugget of the Day

Hello All

It is hot in Nashville today! I don't mean HAWT as in "fabulous", I mean hot as in "I feel like I am living in a frickin' oven!" I decided to brave the heat to show y'all a cool find from Target's clearance section; a very cute tank dress by Pure Energy. It has an empire waist and a butterfly print on the bottom. I am usually not much of one for butterfly prints. but this one is subtle and small, so I went for it.

Dress: Pure Energy at Target

Flops: Old Navy

Close up of print and my foot.

Wheee shade! Yes, my hair is still half wet. That's how I roll.

Well, we have a big shipment of comics coming in today, so I will be working my tush tush off for a bit. I hope everyone is having a fab day!
