Talking Heads

Hello Again,

I thought I'd stop by and wish you all a happy Friday! I've been listening to the Talking Heads on Spotify for the past couple of days. I'm not quite sure what prompted this listening spree. I have always liked the Talking Heads but was never a superfan. After listening to them again, I am struck by the modern, fresh sound of these 80s tracks.

I leave you with Once in A Lifetime. Have a great weekend!

Leopard and Roses

Hello Again!

Lazy blogger is back! This time I'll spare you photos of food, and go straight to an outfit post.
Dress: Torrid
Shrug: Wet Seal
Shoes: Ross (old)
Hair Flower: Lola's Lovelies

This dress has become one of my go to looks for Summer. It is a lightweight fabric, and has an easy, breezy shape. I just throw on a shrug and I am ready to go. At first I thought the pattern was a bit too cray cray for me, but I came to my senses and realized it was perfect.

What have y'all been up to this Summer? I've been a bit of hermit. Our business has kept us busy, and we are still preparing to vend at the big mother-Dragon*Con. We aren't even nearly ready to go, but no big deal, right? It's only 5 weeks away *breaks out in a cold sweat*.

Aside from prepping our stock, we have been enjoying an overabundance of pizza, and watching Fringe from the beginning on Nextflix. Glamourous, no?

I hope Summer is treating you right!

Fourth of July

Hello Again!

I am over a week late with mt 4th recap post. Bad blogger!

The weather was crappy this year (rain for daaayyysss), but we did have an impressive feast over at The Eller homestead.

Check this out, yo! Ben smoked an amazing lamb, Tracy made bean casserole, cupcakes, and amazing, golden rolls. John and Becca brought yummy snacky stuff, and shrimp! Fred and Steph brought pie, ice cream, and more. My contribution was the tater salad and mac and cheese. Everyone's food rocked, hard.
Look at these precious and yummy cupcakes that Tracy made! Boston creme, vanilla and butter creme and cheesecake.

We all had a truly awesome time. Our Fourth of July movie pics were The Avengers and D'Jango Unchained. Though most of us had seen these movies several times, they were the perfect choices to celebrate 'Merica.

On Saturday, Aron and Ben drove to Atlanta to set up at a comic convention, and I hosted a girls night at my house with Tracy and Steph. We had some much needed girl talk, nail paining, and cocktails.

I made the mistake of making these evil little bastards.
I can't really explain how addictive these are. They have a nice little bite to them, and are tastier than regular cheese sticks. We polished off a bag in no time.

I then made pizza, or I attempted to. I had purchased 2 balls of dough from Publix, and I overworked the first batch, effectively turning it into chewing gum. Tracy assisted and worked out the second ball of dough. Success!

After hours of girl talk, we settled into the living room and attempted to watch The Fades.
I slept through chunks of it, and Tracy slept through most of the pilot episode. Steph managed to stay awake through both episodes! From what I gathered through my snoring, The Fades is an apocalyptic, supernatural BBC series that it worth a watch.

Here is a goofy pic from our night.
Note: This has to be the most food-centric post I've ever written. What can I say, I love food!

Happy Friday y'all!

Life Nuggets

Hi Y'all!

I hope you all had a great Fourth of July! We did, and I'll share more on that later.

I've been such a lazy blogger this Summer. We've been busy organizing our stock and getting prepped for Dragon*Con. But, we've managed to sneak in some good times as well. Here are a few life nuggets from this Summer.
I bought this card for Aron's birthday. It made us both very happy!
We met up with The Ellers and Macseks for Aron's birthday dinner at La Tavola.
Ben and Tracy introduced us to La Tavola this Summer, and we are eternally grateful. We decided to have Aron's birthday dinner there. Everyone agreed that my seafood risotto was the best dish at the table. If you are in the area, give La Tavola a try! You won't regret it.
The Macseks and us went in on a co-op with a farmer so that we can get fresh veggies every week. This heirloom cucumber makes me giggle.
Becca and I had an awesome, mid-week pool day.
We met up with Ben and Tracy headed over to Dave and Busters at Opry Mills. That afternoon, I felt like a kid again.

Well, I better get my day started. Tonight is girls night with Steph and Tracy, woo hoo!
