Happy Fall!

Ahhh Fall, I love you. Since Halloween is tomorrow, I thought I'd share with some Fall nuggets from my neck of the woods.

I paid the Farmer's Market a visit and found some gourds.
I really love gourds.
I also love the changing of the leaves. Though we've lived here almost 3 years, it still amazes me.
The little tree in our front yard is a vibrant crimson.
What is Fall without a seasonal treat? Though I try to steer clear of caffeine, I usually cave with a once weekly Spiced Pumpkin Frapuccino.
What is Halloween-time without scary entertainment? I have been digging American Horror Story this season. Perhaps not as much as Season One, but it is pretty rad.

We are having a few friends over on Halloween to watch this movie. I've heard it's awful, but that's half the fun, right?

Hope you are enjoying the season!

Fashion Nugget: My Feathery Friend

Hello Again!

I asked Aron to snap some photos of the outfit I wore to the RAW Art Gallery Event. I truly love my Forever 21+ peacock feather print dress. It does fit a bit oddly in the arms, but it is still one of my faves.
Dress: Forever 21+
Leggings: Mossimo
Booties: BCBG
Clutch: Matt and Nat
Sebastian likes to sneak outside and eat grass when he thinks we aren't looking.
Hee
I'm a dork.

Have a good one!

RAW Art Gallery Event

Hello Again!

Last Thursday, we attended the RAW Art Gallery Event at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville. We were invited to the event by our friend and super talented artist, Sam Flegal. It was a night full of good friends, rad art, and vodka cranberries. What more could you ask for?
Sam and Loraine chatting with Mike and Laura of Aradani Studios.
 Tracy, Steph, and me
I did not partake in body painting. You're welcome.
Nice art
Blurry pic of me and Aron
The VP debate was playing in the background.
I'm not quite sure what was going on here, but it was rad.

We stopped by Waffle House with The Ellers on the way home. There's nothing better than hashbrowns at midnight.

Have a good one!

Hoodie Weather

Hello Again!

How many if you are loving this Fall weather? Last weekend was a bit chilly, so I took the opportunity to wear my new Torrid hoodie. I'm not much of a jeans kind of girl, but I love these F21 skinnies I snagged for only $13.40! Sometimes, you have to keep it casual and cozy. I sported this look the Sunday of the Nashville Comic and Horror Convention.
Hoodie: Torrid
Shoes: Target (old)
Bag: Betsey Johnson

Here are some snapshots from the con. It was a laid back show, and, as always, we had a great time vending next to our friends at World of Strange. Here is a view of the convention from our booth:
Steph stopped by and bought one of our octopus necklaces. It looks great on her! (as does her World of Strange tee).
I love this ladies sick costume.
Iron Man paid the con a visit.
He was on stilts, so he needed a handler.
Ben shared some if his rad cream soda.

Have a good one!

Shawna and Misti's Visit Part Two

Here are more good times from Shawna and Misti's visit to Tennessee!

On their second day in town, we all headed to Kustom Thrills Tattoos to get inked! I had been chatting with the tattoo artist Nathan for about a week, so we all had a good idea of what designs we were getting. I planned on getting cherries on the back of each leg, Shawna wanted a fairy, and Misti wanted a butterfly.

We met up with Nathan at the shop around 3, and began discussing our designs. Shawna's fairy needed to be larger so it wouldn't form into a blob over the years. Misti's butterfly needed more of an outline, and plenty of "sparkles" at her request. My cherries were good to go!

I was impressed by Nathan's professionalism and friendliness. The shop has a rad feel to it, and an impressive Rat Fink collection.
 Johnny Cash stained glass.
 Coop print
We waited on the leopard couch while Nathan sketched out our designs.
Here I am, unsuspecting and sweet. I had no idea of the agony that would follow.
Well, I had a bit of an idea, since I already have a few small pieces. I think it was the location of the cherries that killed me, right on the tendons. Ouch. I spent an hour holding Shawna's hand.
Here is the finished product . I am very happy with them! I went larger than I thought I would, but I'm glad I did.
Shawna initially wanted a fairy on her hip. But because the tattoo needed to be larger, she decided to place it on her upper back. It is so beautiful!
Here is Misti, with her peaceful, smiling face. Her tattoo just about killed her as well. Is our pain tolerance diminishing as we get older?
Here is her gorgeous, "sparkling" butterfly!
We were at the tattoo shop from 3-9pm, a bit longer than we anticipated. The plan was for us to drive back to my house after the tattoos, and Aron would drive us back to Nashville so we could explore 2nd Ave and party a bit. By the time we got home, it was late, so we just went out to Old Chicago Pizza and had a few cocktails there.

On Saturday, we stopped by Toots for a few drinks and fried pickles :) I kept reminding us that we needed a group pick of all three of us, which is something we usually forget to do. So, I had Aron snap a few photos of us that afternoon.
Their last night in town, we had a joint birthday celebration for Becca, Shawna, and myself. We headed to Camino Real for dinner, then back to our house for cake and booze. Tracy made a super yummy Snickerdoodle cake. It was awweessoommmeee!
We all overslept Sunday morning, but we made it to the airport just in time. Saying goodbye to your best friends after a rad weekend is just awful. But I am looking forward to next time!

Shawna & Misti's Visit Part One

My best friends, Shawna and Misti, flew in from Florida last week for a visit. I was so very excited to see these ladies, for in the past 20 years of our friendship, they have become like sisters to me. Here is a rundown of some of the good times.

On their first day in town, we relaxed, chatted, and had drinks at O'Charley's and Chili's. O'Charley's amazing Strawberry Skyy Lemonade quickly became our favorite cocktail.
After cocktail hour, we went to Publix to purchase snacks, and Misti and I found matching Halloween Barbies!
We chilled out that night, got pizza, and watched bad reality TV. Am I gettting old or what?

Part two of their visit coming soon!
