My New Lovelies

First, I want to thank everyone for their kind comments regarding Aron's grandmothers passing. We flew to New Jersey on Wednesday for Emma's funeral, and spent time with family and friends. Can I just say how amazing Aron's family is? They are such a tight knit and wonderful group of people. Even with the support of family, it was still a very rough week.

Though it feels strange to blog right now, I am easing back into it with a quick post on my recent purchases.

I fell in love with this sweater. It has a great pinup/rockabilly feel to it.  I'd been watching closely to see how low the sale price would go. $29 was low enough for me :)

Forever 21 Sweetheart Bird Print Dress

This lovely item is now out of stock. I haven't received this dress yet, but I hope it is a winner.

This lightweight sweater has such a French, gamine feel to it. It will be great for Spring.

I'm not much of  belt person, but I couldn't resist this one. Slap quaint little bow on just about anything, and I will buy it! The price is pretty amazing as well.

I'm not a big white tshirt fan, but I figure I can layer this one with a cardigan. I love the vintage Barbie design.

I like the fit of this dress, except it is about 4 inches too long. I will be getting it hemmed, and wearing the heck out of it this Spring.

As you can see, I have gone on a bit of an online shopping spree. This has forced me to look at my budget and curtail my spending a bit. I installed a budget app into my iPhone to keep track of my personal spending habits, business spending, and dining out budget. As far as personal spending, I will allow myself $150-200 per month to spend on myself. That includes not just clothing, but haircuts, pedicures, makeup, and even lunch out with friends. I think that is realistic and doable.

I hope Tuesday is treating you right :)

Taking a break

Hello,

I will be taking a break from blogging for the next week or two. My husband's grandmother Emma passed away, and we will be traveling to New Jersey this week for her funeral.

Emma was a remarkable woman: strong, beautiful, kind and feisty :) She will be greatly missed.

A Lunch Break

Hello Again!

I haven't had time this week to prepare my Vegas Day 2 post, so I wanted to share the lunch adventure I had with Tracy. Hey, when you work from home, getting out of the house IS an adventure!

We met up at the O'Charley's close to her house, and spent a good three hours talking, eating, and ....drinking. Hey, everyone needs a vodka and cranberry now and then :)

I forgot to take food pictures, but Tracy took an outfit photo for me outside of the restaurant.

Jacket: Xhilaration from Target, Dress: Simply Be, Leggings: Torrid, Boots: Amazon

Tracy and her husband Ben own a badass T-Shirt company called World of Strange. You HAVE to check out their designs!

Wheeeee cell phone face pic! (I am saving up for a REAL camera soon, promise!)

Went home a took a few pics of my accessories.
Hair flower: Andy's Eye Candy on Etsy

My Pamela Love Eagle Claw Necklace

When I look a these pics, I see the 5-7 pounds of holiday/Vegas weight I am carrying around, mainly in my face! This is not a body bashing blog in any way, but I am anxious to get healthier again. Stupid high blood pressure.

Hope y'all are having a fab week!

Vegas Day 1

Hello Again!

We returned from Las Vegas last Monday-booo! I want to go back right now! I love sharing my adventures with y'all, so here is the lowdown on our first day. This post is very image and link heavy, so consider yourself warned.

We arrived in Vegas hungry and ready to gamble. Food or slots? Hmmmm...well, my hungry tummy won, so we had lunch at the famous Carnegie Deli. This place doesn't play around. You can expect mile high sandwiches & huge portions of authentic New York deli fare. Did I mention the cheesecake?
After lunch, we played around with penny slots. I think I won about $40 on the Wheel of Fortune 25 cent slots. Woot!
We decided to walk around for a bit, and wandered over to The Venetian and Cesear's Palace. The Venetian still had their Winter Wonderland up, it was very cool. The tree in made of LED bubbles. Our fabulous hotel, The Mirage, is in this photo as well.
Aron made the mistake of letting me close to a Sephora, so in I went. Several cool things were purchased, which I will share in a later post. I'm wearing my Mossimo cardi and leggings, Pure Energy Dress, Pamela Love Necklace, Jessica Simpson Bag, boots I scored from Amazon.
 Ceiling at The Venetian
 Haaaaa only in Vegas!
Beautiful rose garden at The Wynn

The Wynn, the moon, & the Blue Man Group

Woot Gigi's cupcakes! We have these in Nashville too :)
 Goddess Statue at Caesar's
Caesar's had an H&M, but I was disappointed because they didn't carry big girl clothing. I thought they did, at least maybe an XXL? Oh wells...

We grabbled dinner at BLT Burger, yummm!
My "Naked Cowgirl" cocktail
 The strip
The Mirage at night
 Our room, awful photo

So, that is our first day in Vegas-Land. I will do my best to share the remaining 4 days over the next week, but I can't make any promises. Last weekend we made the drive to South Carolina to visit Aron's grandmother Emma, who is very sick. She is who is on our minds and hearts, so blogging is much less of a priority right now.

I hope you are all having a good Tuesday :)

A Moment's Peace

Hello Again!

Two days before we left for Vegas, I headed over to A Moment's Peace Salon & Day Spa to treat myself to a facial. Well, my husband Aron is the actually the one who treated me-via a gift certificate he bought me for Christmas in 2010. Yep, we were so busy in 2011 that I couldn't find the time, or the right occasion, to use it. Boy, I'm glad I fit it into my schedule, because it was an amazing experience!

When I walked in to my appointment, I was lead to the lovely sitting room below.

After a few moments my esthetician, Christie, came to take me for my facial.

The room was warm and relaxing, and they even had a heated bed!

Christie did an marvelous job! She was very sweet, and made me feel comfortable and at ease. I chose the Vitamin C Therapy Facial. Here is the description courtesy of A Moment's Peace's website:

"We recommend this treatment for reducing fine lines and restoring a youthful, luminous appearance to your skin. A deep pore cleansing with a high-potency concentration of Vitamin C is applied, followed by a high-tech formulation of freeze-dried seaweed. Great for dehydrated skin."
(Approximately 60 minutes)

After the facial was over, I took a glimpse in the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes! My skin was dewy, hydrated, and glowing. I've had a couple of facials in my life, but this one was the best experience by far. I left feeling relaxed and serene.

Here's a photo of my face post-facial, looking all bright and shiny :)

If you live in the Middle Tennessee area, I would definitely recommend checking out A Moment's Peace!

Viva Las Vegas!

Hello Lovelies!

Tomorrow my husband and I will be headed out to one of our fave places on the planet-Las Vegas! I am super excited for the trip, but struggling to get all of the Twisted Heroes/Lola-Rocks orders out before we leave. Not to mention do a TON of laundry so I can pack! Why do I always put packing off until the last minute, when I've been planning outfits in my head for months? Hee hee.

We are planning on visiting some interesting attractions on this adventure. Here's the lowdown:

Aron and I caught this show on our honeymoon back in 2008, and it is simply amazing. Beatles songs + Cirque du Soleil=AWESOME! We just have to see it again.

Here is a pic of me (platinum hair and all), outside of Love in 2008.

Because we are a bit, ummm, offbeat, we know we have to visit the Atomic Testing Museum.

Right outside of Vegas is the Valley of Fire State Park. I can't wait to do a bit of hiking through the park and take in some of the desert beauty.

Aron want to ride the roller coaster at New York, New York, and he will be doing so without moi. I don't do roller coasters :)

With my love of all things pinup and burlesque, I know we are going to have to stop by The Burlesque Hall of Fame.

I have a couple of blog posts ready to roll in my absence, so stop back by and check them out. Oh, and don't forget to enter our giveaway!
