Christmas Day

Hello Again!

Happy New Year's Eve to you all! I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing holiday season.

Below are a few fuzzy iPhone snapshots from our Christmas Day. Aron and I woke up around 7 or so, and began to open our Christmas loot. Santa was very good to us this year :)  Here are a few rad things we received.

Mom sent me a ton of awesome makeup! I love Benefit and Sephora cosmetics.
Aron with some of his Christmas loot, and radical squid socks.
Aron gave me this gorgeous, vintage topaz ring, and the most dope adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, ever.
I love this bow purse from Aron's parents.
We gave our kitties catnip mice for Christmas. Sebastian (on the left) turned into the paranoid stoner, while Z (on the right) was quite mellow. Z also decided to hoard both mice.
We were lucky enough to spend Christmas with our awesome friends, The Ellers. Tracy made me this amazing quilt! Can you believe how gorgeous it is? Ben made Aron some badass tshirts. The Ellers always give the best gifts!
We ventured out into the miserable, rainy weather to see Django Unchained. We all enjoyed the film, and if you are a Tarantino fan, I bet you will too.

I made traditional Christmas fare for dinner: stuffed shells. Haaaaa! But they were pretty yummy!

We are having friends over for New Years Eve, and I am making a big crock pot full of chili and perhaps some sort of champagne punch. I am too old to fight the New Years Eve bar scene! I'd rather just relax with the people I love.

Have a great New Year's Eve!

eShakti

Hello Again!

I was thrilled when eShakti contacted me to review one of their fabulous garments! eShakti offers beautiful clothing in sizes 0-36, and allows for custom measurements and style choices on all of their clothing.
Photobucket I chose this lovely Peter Pan collar dress to review. For a small fee, eShakti allows you to choose different sleeve options, necklines, and hemlines. This dress was initially sleeveless, but I chose the short sleeve option instead. What woman doesn't love options!

eShakti will custom make your garment according to your specific measurements. When ordering, I compared my measurements to their standard size 2X, and they matched exactly, no custom measurements needed. The dress fits like a dream!

I dig the style and quality of this dress. The fabric is soft, yet sturdy, and the dress is fully lined and machine washable. I generally stay away from Peter Pan collars because I feel they make my bust look even fuller. But, because of the placement and width of the collar, I feel like there were no bust issues. I'm also loving the bronze sequins on the collar. Photobucket Photobucket
Dress: c/o eShakti
Tights: Torrid
Shoes: Guess
Bracelet: Forever 21

I sported this lovely dress for for a Nashville date night. We visited Amerigos, where these amazing cheese fritters happened.

I am truly happy with my dress from eShakti. I recommend you check out their fab website, and receive $25 off your first purchase!
Have a good one!

Holiday Nuggets

Hello Again!

I hope you are all having a peaceful and joyous Christmas Eve :) I'm feeling the Christmas spirit today, so I thought I'd compile a little montage of holiday nuggets.

Our Christmas tree, and my favorite childhood ornament.
My Mom sent our Christmas packages covered in Peanuts stickers.
This holiday season was a busy one for us. Our poor postman.
My toasty headband from Susannah Bean, and my candy cane mani.
My friend Tracy hosted a Chrismas movie day, and made these amazing ornament cupcakes.
Mr. Santy Flamingo
I leave you with our precious kitty cat, Z. The tree skirt is her favorite place on Earth.

Hope you all have a magical Christmas Eve!

We held the party at Busters, a local bar/fab hamburger joint. Ben and Tracy made turkey and dressing, and a bunch of yummy desserts. I made baked ziti and baked brie, and brought some snacks.

Here is a group shot of the first wave of guests. I was a bad photographer and stopped taking photos around 9 or so :(

Porter Flea

Hello Again!

Last weekend, Aron and I headed over to Nashville to check out Porter Flea, a local craft and food spectacular.

The weather was warm, so I was able to get away with a light top, dress, and leggings.
Photobucket
Lace tunic: Dorothy Perkins
Skirt: Xhilaration
Black Top: Marshall's
Leggings: Forever 21+
Boots: TJMaxx
Necklace: Mark Ryden

Porter Flea was packed! There was a line around the block to get into the event. I stopped by and met Kaelah of Little Chief Honeybee! She was such a sweetheart, and her Honeybean mobile boutique setup was gorgeous.
Photobucket Photobucket
Next to Honeybean was Jeni's ice cream. We tried the goat cheese/Courvoisier & the Chocolate/Peppermint flavors. Hands down, it was some of the best ice cream I've ever had!
Photobucket
Porter Flea had over 60 amazing handmade vendors. We picked up a few unique Christmas presents for friends and family.
Photobucket Photobucket
After shopping, we stopped at one of the food trucks. We chose the pizza, and it was not great. The crust was hard as a rock! I guess we should have braved the trucks with the longer lines.

We stopped by Antique Archeology (the 2nd store of the American Pickers dudes), and weren't super impressed. It mainly consisted of high price auto antiques, and cheesy American Pickers tshirts and merchandise. Oh wells.

We went up to Franklin to The Factory for a bit more Christmas shopping. We had planned on getting a bite of dinner in Nashville, but we were so tired after our adventures that we ended up heading home and ordering Pei Wei. Ahhh, the joys of getting old :)

Have a good one!

Anniversary-Palooza

Hello Again!

Have you entered our Urban Decay Giveaway? Today is the last day to enter!

Aron and I spread our anniversary celebration out over a few days. For the first leg of our adventure, we visited Bell Buckle, Tennessee to check out some antique shops and spend a relaxing day together.

Bell Buckle is a small town with shops that specialize in handmade gifts, antiques, and yummy food. I like the down home feel of their tiny downtown area.
Photobucket
We started off looking in a few of the local antique stores.

Gorgeous toiletry case
Photobucket
Poodles! Salt and Pepper Shakers and Bookends
Photobucket Photobucket
Aron spotted books, of course :)
Photobucket
After we looked through a few shops, we stopped for a quick lunch at the cafe. Then we had some delicious ice cream, and looked around a bit more.
Photobucket
Bell Buckle also has two larger antique malls withing walking distance of the main cluster of shops. It was there that I found some awesome milk glass vases.

Here are some of our cool antique finds:
Photobucket
My milk glass vases, bunny figurine, and 1959 copy of "The Electric Cookbook".

First, let me say that I didn't know how deep my love of milk glass was until I saw it in multitudes in the antique shops. Most of it was pretty pricey, but a picked these vases up for a couple of bucks each. Oh, and how can you go wrong with a $2 bunny figurine?

This brings me to the cookbook. This fascinating piece of history takes me back to a time where a woman's "first interest is her family, who loves to please her husband and children, whose heart grows warm when they like what she cooks". Their words, not mine :)

The next day, we headed over to Franklin to check out some shops at The Factory. I wore my favorite, old ASOS dress.
Photobucket
At The Factory's Antique shop., we found this awesome, rose gold, pearl, and ruby ring from the early 1900s. I simply love it.
Photobucket
We walked around downtown Franklin and checked out all the amazing shops.
For dinner, we ended up in downtown Nashville at Sitar.
Photobucket
Aron takes his Vegetarian Thali very seriously. It was a delicious, enormous amount of food.
Photobucket
We ended the night with a scoop from Ben and Jerry's. What is Indian food without ice cream for dessert?

We had a great anniversary weekend together. I am truly a lucky woman to have my wonderful Aron:)

Have a good one!
