The Flaming Lips

I have loved The Flaming Lips for about a decade now. Their masterpiece of an album, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, helped me through some darker times in my life. When I heard they were coming to the Ryman in Nashville, I knew I had to see them! It was the best show I have ever seen, hands down.

Here is a sampling of photos from the concert. For more, check out my flickr.
When they played their final song, "Do You Realize", confetti flying through the air, I shed a few happy tears. That song gets me every time :)

Here are a few pics of what I wore. I love my knockoff Betsey Johnson strawberry necklace. I as obsessed with these flats I purchased from Target. After the quarter sized blisters they left on my feet, let's just say I'm not obsessed anymore.....

Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Fest

Hello Again!
Where have I been? Well, this weekend was an insanely busy one.
Lola-Rocks Clothing and my husband's company, Twisted Heroes, set up to sell our wares at the Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Fest in Nashville. It was a successful show for both our businesses, so cheers to that!

Here are some photos. The first few are of me posing at the Lola-Rocks Clothing table wearing my City Chic Cherry Dress :) Seeing these photos makes me realize how much I need a professional camera. Sigh......

Funny Books and Such

Hello Again!

As promised, here are some more life nuggets from last weekend. Saturday was Free Comic Book Day, which happens to be my husband's favorite holiday. Here is a photo of him eyeing the freebies at Outer Limits Comics.

Funnnnyyyyy books!

Captain American partaking in a cupcake.

Yea funny books!

I's gots funny books

We hit up several comic book shops that day, it was an all day kind of adventure. Here is Aron walking up to Rick's Comic City, his eyes gleaming with joy at the .50 sidewalk sale. Free Comic Book day isn't just about the free funny books, it is mostly about the huge sales.

Customers going apeshit on the .50 books. I took one look at this madness and headed down to the thrift store. Aron found ALOT of stuff.

Funny booksssss

After Rick's Comic City I was HUNGRY! I was craving a Red Robin burger, so we paid them a visit. In case you care, I am wearing an Old Navy Knit dress, Lola-Rocks Clothing cardigan, Betseyville bag, and the silver seashell necklace I can't seem to take off.

Nom, nom, nom. It didn't quite hit the spot, I'm not sure why?

Yea I'm (kind of) full!

Yea Red Robin!

Aron just loves having his photo taken.

We visited a few more comic shops, and called it a day. On the last visit, I spotted something creepy and fabulous. The comic shop we visited was next to a custom tire shop, behind the carport, was this creepy, ancient, stuffed panda. Mr. Panda, you scare the shit out of me!

WTF

On a blog note, I have started using larger photos via flickr? What do you think?
Hope you are all having a fabulous day!

My Favorite Things: Our Backyard

We had a very busy weekend, which involved Free Comic Book Day, and a viewing of Thor! More on these festivities later this week, I promise.

My Favorite Thing for this Monday is our backyard. When we bought our home back in October, I had no idea how much I would fall in love with this outdoor space. Right beyond the rocks there is a drop that leads to a small creek, and the wooded area lies behind it.

Ahhhhh serenity.....Aron and I ate breakfast on the patio Saturday morning. Is it weird that I am excited about our patio furniture? We found it at Walmart last weekend on sale.

Word of advice; if you are going to go for it and do bagels with cream cheese, please buy the full fat kind. Please. Even the reduced fat stuff I bought tasted like plastic. Of course, I still ate it :)

I'm wearing a cute bow cardigan Lola-Rocks Clothing got in this week. (Lola-Rocks Clothing is my business in case you are wondering). It really is adorable. Also, I put a streak in my hair last week. The main purpose of the bleached streak was to cover the massive gray streak that is forming :)

Our kitty Sebastian likes to join us on the patio, mainly to partake in some yummy grass and greens.
Hope you all have a fabulous week!
